My Bucket List
By: SCJR
1. Live in Nunavut for a short period. I have always wanted to live in a far, northern community. The harsh climate and beautiful scenery would be awe-inspiring to experience. In addition, you would have a heightened sense of friendship with your neighbors, since some of the time you are simply trying to survive with them.
2. Go to a fancy restaurant and eat duck. I have never eaten a bird other than chicken my entire life. With this activity I would not only be able to go eat at a fancy restaurant, but munch on a unique food as well.
3. Take an all expenses paid trip around the world, visiting prestigious schools. Visiting different schools all around the world would be a very enlightening experience. I could see how well off we have it at our school compared to developing countries. Moreover, I could see how well off other schools are in comparison to us. To top it off, I would also travel around the world in the process.4. Go to the lowest and highest elevations of the world. Mostly this would be for bragging rights, which are useless once you're six feet under. However, the experience of being at the lowest land point on Earth would be interesting. In addition, the highest part of the Earth will undoubtedly be a mountain, which will allow me to climb a mountain at the same time.
5. Drive and/or own a 1970 Chevelle SS. My father owned one of these in his past. Personally, I think it is a very good-looking car. I would love to be able to drive around in a fine vehicle like this once I have received my driver’s license. Unfortunately, the gas mileage would be pitiful.6. Write a book in conjunction with my possible future profession. Presuming that I pursue a profession, I would like to write a book regarding that profession. To know that a piece of your work is published, and will outlive you, gives you a sense of satisfaction in your life.
7. Go through the Chunnel. I have never been in an underground tunnel that has been used for transportation. Once again, most of this would give me bragging rights, which would make this less important than other parts of the list. On the other hand, the experience itself would be memorable. To know that there were thousands of liters of water in the English Channel above your head at one point is remarkable.
8. Blow up something with a big BOOM. Who would not want to destroy something with a big explosion? The idea I have is to build a simple and small structure with plain materials, like plywood. Then, I would rig A LOT of explosives to it with the assistance of a certified bomb range officer. Lastly, I would watch my hard work turn into billions of splinters of wood. I think that would be very satisfying.
9. Participate in the Olympics. To be able to participate in the Olympics would be partially for bragging rights, especially if I won a medal. Nevertheless, I would be representing my country at the same time, which would be a very humbling and prideful experience. In addition to that, I would meet people from around the world.
10. Surprise the entire humankind. This is a hard activity to describe. If I were to say what I was going to do to surprise the world, it would not be a surprise anymore. Mainly, I would want to do something so outrageous that it would take the world by storm. The surprise would make international headlines. It could cause either responses of horror or wonder.

ReplyDeleteOh my... Wait. I would blow something up too.. Hehe...
ReplyDeleteThe assignment called for you to comment on someone's bucket list. However, it required for your comment to be 3-4 sentences long. That was not 3-4 sentences long.
ReplyDeleteI am technically allowed to post what I want..and I didn't have my assignment at the time.
ReplyDelete5. Drive and/or own a 1970 Chevelle SS.
- A very bold and mean car. Being a fan old schools cars. I approve of this post. You have some good taste and I'm sure it would please your father to know that you are trying to get a car like he had in his younger days.
I would love to participate in the olympics too because you could be cheered on.
ReplyDeleteI have never been in an underground chunnel but it looks preety cool.
Most of these ideas are very original and made me interested to keep reading
ReplyDeleteI believe this person knows what they are talking about. I have been through the chunnel and i can tell you it is very cool.
ReplyDeleteI agree that blowing something up with a big boom would be awesome. First you take a long time building something a trying hard doing it. Then in no time it explodes and is gone. But still it would be fun to watch. The bigger the boom the better.
ReplyDeleteColby, when you decide to eat at a fancy resturant it should be my resturant. I will make you a special little duck. Then we can both cross something off of our bucket lists, you ate at a fancy resturant and I have a fancy resturant.
